Fatima Muhammad Al-Fihri was a Arab Muslim woman chiefly known as the founder of the world’s first academic degree-granting institution of higher education, which is still in operation today as the University of Qarawiyyin in Fes, Morocco. Fatima was the daughter of a wealthy businessman and after her father passed a way, she and her sister inherited all his fortune. They spend all their money in creating mosques and schools, and especially into founding the world’s first academic-granting institution of higher education.
